Zinnia's are the novice gardener's best friend. So easy to grow, with tall vibrantly colored stems that look great in bouquets.
Mazurkia Zinnia is such a unique variety, with salmon to purple center petals fringed with blush colored tips. These blooms are just like 'Hi, I'm Mazurkia, and you are?' Add these to your gardens to feel a similar aplomb.
Planting conditions: Zinnia's like it hot. And Sunny. More water = more blooms, but they'll do ok with normal irrigation, they aren't picky.
Blooms: 2-2.5" diameter blooms are abundant all summer through first frost. Deadhead the blooms regularly (meaning cut the flowers for bouquets, or if the flowers die on the plant cut them off down to where to stem is green right above where it is leafing again) to encourage more blooms.
Annual: Zinnia should be planted after your last frost, and will not come back the following year.
Deer tend to avoid eating Zinnia.
Ships: In the Spring, as a plant in a 2.75" diameter pot.
