Direct sow in garden in the late fall (for mild winters) or very early spring, when it's still cold outside.

Blooms all summer long.
Water regularly until they get established, and then give them extra water during dry spells. Pick the flowers regularly to encourage more blooms.
A self-seeding wildflower that pollinators love. You can prolong the vase life by searing the cut end of the stem for a few seconds with fire or boiling water.
