Centarea Americana, commonly called Basketflower because the pattern on the underside of the flower and the bud looks like a woven basket, is a fluffy and easy to grow addition to the garden.
The sweet purple of the Aloha Rosa Basketflower variety has wild 2-3" blossoms that bees adore.
Planting conditions: Not too picky, tolerant of a variety of soil types, and happiest in full sun.
Care: Once they are happy and established in your garden, they are drought-tolerant, but will bloom more with more water.
Blooms: All Summer. Deadhead the blooms regularly (meaning cut the flowers for bouquets, or if the flowers die on the plant cut them off) to encourage more blooms.
Self-seeding annual: Annuals, meaning they die over the winter, but they self-seed so they will naturally come back the following year in your garden.
Ships: as a plant in a 2.75" diameter pot, in the late Spring.
Flat rate $10 shipping no matter how many plants you buy.
We give your plants plenty of (recyclable) padding so they are cozy and safe during transit. We also monitor weather events and will contact you if unusual weather will impact your order's ship date.
