Growing Info
How to Plant Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Fill a little bit of the loose dirt back into the hole and tuck your plant in so the base of the stem is even with the top of the hole. Now fill in the rest of the soil around the roots, give the soft ground around the base of your new plant friend a few solid pats to compress the soil onto the roots, and a long, gentle drink of water
Where to Plant Find a place that gets a decent amount of sun, with rich, well-draining soil
When to Plant Plant outside in the late spring, once the soil has warmed up. Avoid the heat of the day when planting — plant in the early morning, late afternoon, or by the light of the moon
When to Expect Blooms Mid-summer through frost
Care Instructions Water regularly until they get established, and then give them extra water during dry spells. Pick blooms to encourage more

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will these grow in zone 9

Yes, they'll enjoy zone 9 but will likely appreciate some afternoon shade!

  • This plant says it takes extra effort in the description, can you please describe further?

Lisianthus require good nutrient rich and well draining soil, and regular water. They won't do well with competition from weeds, so you'll want to make sure to weed regularly. So nothing too crazy, they just need a little more tending than some of the tough-as-nails plants we also love that will bloom no matter where you plant them!

  • Are ship dates based on growing zones?

Yes! We begin shipping in April and will ship plants after your last average frost!
