Feathertop Grass, Pennisetum villosum, has large creamy plumes up to 6" long for a lush Fall display on robust clumps of grass, and it gives your garden an ethereal quality when the light filters through it.
The plumes dry out for a golden winter interest, or you can harvest and dry them.
Planting conditions: Once it's established, it is drought tolerant and only needs extra water if there's a long stretch without water.
Sun: Full sun is ideal, some shade is ok.
Blooms: Blooms in late Summer. Can be dried for Winter bouquets as well.
Hardy annual that may come back in zones 8-10 but generally should be grown as an annual.
Zone: 2-11. Deer Resistant. Good addition to cut flower arrangements.
