Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla Mollis Thriller) is a fast-growing perennial with beautiful scalloped leaves grey-green foliage, and makes a pretty ground cover in the front of a garden bed. In the late Spring through Summer it sends up an airy plume of greenish yellow flowers, that make a fun addition to bouquets and can be dried as well.
The large, soft leaves are a little furry, and collect water after a rain and the morning dew (which looks spectacular when the droplets catch the sun). Fun fact: the beads of water that accumulate on the leaves were thought to be the purest form of water by alchemists, and they would use it when attempting to turn base metal into gold, which is why the plant is called 'Alchemilla.'
Lady's Mantle can be boiled and used as a natural dye as well.
Planting conditions: It can tolerate all sorts of soil and sun levels, but does need regular water.
