Daffodils wake up early each Spring, and there are many varieties that go beyond the friendly yellow bloom we know so well.
Barrett Browning Daffodils are bold and poppy, the white petals have subtle strokes of pale yellow, and a shallow bright orange throat. This bloom is a little bit classic and a little bit funky. We love this mixed into our Spring bouquets.
(I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise) - Barrett Browning
Daffodils grow from bulbs, which will spread or 'naturalize' if they are happy.
When to plant: Plant in the Fall for Spring blooms.
Planting conditions: Daffodils grow best in full sun but will tolerate partial shade. Not picky about soil.
Care: Water after planting then wait for Spring display, water regularly as it starts to grow in the Spring. You can pick the bloom, but let the foliage stay on the plant until it dies, as this strengthens the bulb for the following Spring. Once the foliage dies you can trim it off.
Bloom Time: Mid Spring.
Hardiness: Perennial in zones 3-8
Ships: Daffodil bulbs ship in the Fall.
