Sunflowers, Helianthus annus, are the easiest flower to grow. While we do not begrudge the cheerful and iconic yellow-petaled varieties, we are loving the many different shades of these unexpected Sunflowers.
Is the Teddy Bear Sunflower the sweetest and most well-named flower you have ever seen, or what? This is a short and bushy sunflower, so looks great at the front edge of your sunflower patch or garden.
Planting conditions: Not too picky, tolerant of a variety of soil types, and happiest in full sun.
Care: Once they are happy and established in your garden, they are drought-tolerant, but will bloom more with more water.
Blooms: 3-5" blooms with minimal pollen bloom mid-Summer through first frost. Deadhead the blooms regularly (meaning cut the flowers for bouquets, or if the flowers die on the plant cut them off) to encourage more blooms.
Self-seeding annual: Sunflowers are annuals, meaning they die over the winter, but they self-seed so they will naturally come back the following year in your garden.
Ships: as a plant in a 2.75" diameter pot, in the late Spring.
Flat rate $10 shipping no matter how many plants you buy.
We give your plants plenty of (recyclable) padding so they are cozy and safe during transit. We also monitor weather events and will contact you if unusual weather will impact your order's ship date.
If anything is not right about your plant when you receive it, please let us know and we will make it right.
