Shipping Information
Shipping will begin April 14 and run through May 28th. Plants ship Mon-Wed, arriving by the weekend via UPS two day shipping.
Shipping is scheduled by state. To find your shipping week click here.
If your scheduled shipping week does not work for you for any reason - we totally get it! Reach out to us and we can reschedule, no sweat.
Please notethat you MUST reschedule your delivery with us by the Thursday before your currently scheduled ship week. After that, shipments are locked in for the upcoming week. The greenhouse staff takes Friday-Monday to prep the plants for shipping. Thanks for your understanding.
All fall-planted bulbs, corms, and roots ship out mid-October.
Seeds and gardening tools are in-stock year-round and will be shipped within 3-5 days after your order is placed.
Shipping ranges from $5-$25 depending on your product mix. We will often ship a single order in multiple packages, and products/plants will arrive at different times.
We currently only ship to addresses within the United States. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii. We cannot ship live plants to PO boxes.
Sign up for text updates at checkout so you can be notified when your order is going to arrive. You will automatically receive shipping updates via email. It's best to greet your new plants promptly so you can unpack them and get them water right away.
Unpack the box and the individual plastic shells right away to give them air and light. Open the packs all the way so that they lay flat, then stand your plants up in them. They will be happy there for days, and even weeks. Water the root balls if they are dry. Shipping can make plants weary, and they might take a day or two to perk up. Order Information
Generous. If your plant is damaged in transit, or anything about your order is not right, reach out to us within 7 days of your delivery date and we'll make it right. Note that it might take your plant a day or two to rebound after shipping. Take photos of your plants as soon as they arrive. Throughout the first week after the arrival of your plants, take photos of any concerns and send them to us so we can look and troubleshoot the issues together. If the plants truly seem beyond saving, we'll happily refund, reship, or provide store credit. Please note that after 7 days of your plants being in your care, we cannot provide refunds for their failure to thrive.
We source only the highest quality bulbs, corms, tubers, and roots from the best growers around the world. However, if your plant materials are showing signs of unviability, we'll be happy to provide store credit, replacements, or refunds within seven days of receiving your plant materials. When you reach out to us, please provide details and photos (if possible) documenting your quality concerns.
All seed sales are final. Our seeds are given multiple germination tests in order to be eligible for sale. Every seed variety must pass these tests with flying colors, or we do not release them to customers. These are same seeds we use for own crops, too. For that reason, we are unable to provide store credit, replacements, or refunds for ungerminated seeds.
If your tools or garden accessories arrive in less than stellar shape, we'll gladly provide a free return label so you can send them back. Once received, we'll refund you for your items in full.
Sure! We can add it for you. Please email us right after making your purchase with your name, order number, and brief gift message, and we can add it to the packing slip that goes into the box along with your gift. (You're so thoughtful!) hey@plantgem.com
Payments
We process credit card payments at checkout, although depending on your planting zone, your order might not ship until later in the season.
No, because of limited supply of our in-demand plants we can only reserve your order with payment in full.
Miscellaneous
We are based in Rochester, NY. Our greenhouse is in Florida.
Ah yes, we get this question a lot! Simple answer: Do not do this.
If you are new to growing cut flowers, (or even quite good and experienced at growing cut flowers) then please know that it is completely unpredictable whether you will have any (or enough) flowers blooming on the exact day of your wedding - no matter how hard you care for your plants.
Growing your own flowers (or having a family member or loved one grow flowers) for your special event creates so much stress and pressure - don't do it. Please don't do this to yourself or a loved one. Every corner of this country is filled with flower farmers and florists who need your business. Let the professionals handle this for you. If you are on a budget, consider sourcing flowers from your local grocery store or CSA.
