Abiqua Drinking Gourd Hosta Plants

Hosta Abiqua Drinking Gourd has textured "seersuckered" blue-green leaves that turn up and curl to catch water and glitter like magic.

Hostas, the queens and kings of dappled light, with strong, vibrant leaves that grow like a spraying fountain, are long-lived perennials, dear friends to the shade gardener, and joyfully grow in a wide range of colors, textures and shapes.

Plant your Hostas in your favorite outdoor planter or very best shady spot in the yard, for a fabulous feature foliage plant that comes back year after year. Purple-white, bugle-shaped blooms on long, strong stems pop up whenever they please throughout the summer.

Includes three young plants, grown in 2.5" diameter pots.

Growing Info
How to Plant Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Fill a little bit of the loose dirt back into the hole and tuck your plant in so the base of the stem is even with the top of the hole. Now fill in the rest of the soil around the roots, give the soft ground around the base of your new plant friend a few solid pats to compress the soil onto the roots, and a long, gentle drink of water
Where to Plant Find a place that gets mostly shade, with well-draining soil
When to Plant Plant outside in the late spring, once the soil has warmed up. Avoid the heat of the day when planting — plant in the early morning, late afternoon, or by the light of the moon
When to Expect Blooms We're here for the foliage, but when happy, Hostas will bloom multiple times a summer whenever they feel like it
Care Instructions Water regularly. Very yummy to critters and bugs, so happiest when pest prevention products/tactics are utilized
Extra Credit Do be sure to keep the soil evenly moist, but not saturated. Cut back foliage down to the ground after it wilts in early winter. Divide to propagate if desired
