Ask a Question-
My Lisianthus plants are blooming again. After the heat of summer has passed, it seems the cooler fall temperatures have enticed them. Can I keep them in their containers to overwinter in my basement near a window?
Hi there! Lisianthus love tons and tons of sun - but their other key factor is plenty of air flow. Their native environment is the open plains, so it would take some effort to simulate that in a basement - such as grow lights and fans. I have also found that bringing in living plants from the outdoors results in bringing in other living things from the soil, like bugs and fungus. As annuals in most zones that have true winter, it's best to enjoy them while they last and allow them to complete their natural life cycle.
