Marigolds are used in sacred ceremonies the world round, found on alters from Mexico to India. If their holy lineage isn't enough to encourage you to tuck a few of these plants into your garden, Marigolds are also edible (you can eat the blossoms and the ferny foliage), they are natural pest deterrents, and they make a gorgeous yellow dye.

How to Plant	Stick in the dirt 1/4" deep, 2" apart. Water gently & regularly as seedlings emerge over the next 2 weeks. Once babies are 2” tall, pluck so there's just one per 12"
Where to Plant	Find a place that gets mostly sun, good soil is not important to this one
When to Plant	Directly into the garden after the threat of frost has passed, or start inside 6 weeks earlier
